With reference to your telegram of the 15th.
instant, I have the honour to inform you that I have tele- graphed to you to-day to the effect that I have arranged with Mr. Bird, the local Agent of the Executors under the will of the late Mr. Edmund Sharp for the purchase of the property in question on behalf of the Admiralty for the sun of $375,000.
As the transaction is one between the said Agent of the Executors and this Government, payment is requi- red to be made locally, and I shall therefore be obliged if the amount can be remitted to this Colony as soon as pos- sible.
